This website is currently a project I am undertaking for my Future Cultures subject. The subject entails me to research a topic of my choosing that explore the many concepts and ideas surrounding the future.  

 

The reason I chose to name this website 'The Tamagotchi Effect', was to pay homage to the very concept, which is described as: 

 

"The development of an emotional attachment to both materials (machines) and artificial beings (avatars) that otherwise do not have any real emotions." (Valpreda and Zonda, 2016)

 

So, if you wish to learn more about digital companions, or you just want a friend to listen to, throw some headphones on and let's start!
